Training Objectives
Effective 1:1 communication is a key element of personal effectiveness while enhancing self management techniques and contributing to reducing levels of stress. Research shows that effective communication is the cornerstone of success in business. We will explore the underlying principles of effective personal communication and the application of these principles and skills in practice.
In business our ability to communicate effectively on a 1:1 basis is critical to the many daily activities of our organisation. Situations can include discussions and negotiations with staff, customers and suppliers, in meetings with your Bank and other stakeholders etc. All of which are key to your ongoing business success.
You will learn how to improve your listening skills, speak with authority and express yourself clearly and confidently in all situations. Being able to adapt your style of communication to the demands of the situations you find yourself in is a skill that requires personal mastery and self-awareness.
We will look at how it is possible to know how you need to be, as a communicator, in any given situation.
Course content includes:
• How to make that all important first impression
• Interpret body language and its impact on what's being communicated
• How to plan and focus your message
• Develop Active listening skills
• Jargon Busting
• How to negotiate a "win win" situation
• Assertiveness – working with and not against people
